In recent months, Dubai chocolate has become extremely popular on social media and among dessert lovers. This unusual sweet stands out because of its interesting texture and luxurious combination of ingredients. The contrast between crispy kadaif pastry, creamy pistachio filling and a smooth chocolate coating creates a dessert that is both rich and satisfying.

The idea for this chocolate treat is inspired by desserts that gained attention in Dubai’s modern pastry scene. Its layered structure and elegant appearance make it perfect for special occasions, gifts or simply for those moments when you want to try something different from classic chocolates.

Ingredients

  • 200 g milk chocolate or dark chocolate
  • 100 g kadaif (shredded phyllo dough)
  • 40 g butter
  • 200 g pistachio cream or pistachio spread
  • 1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)
  • 50 g white chocolate (for decoration)
  • Food coloring for chocolate (yellow and green, optional)

Preparation

Step 1 – Toast the kadaif

Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped kadaif and cook it while stirring until it becomes golden and crispy.

Remove from the heat and allow it to cool completely.

Step 2 – Prepare the chocolate shell

Melt the milk or dark chocolate using a double boiler or microwave.

Pour the melted chocolate into a silicone mold and spread it evenly so that it covers both the base and the sides.

Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes so the chocolate layer can firm up.

Step 3 – Prepare the filling

In a bowl combine the pistachio cream and tahini until smooth.

Add the toasted kadaif and mix everything well so the mixture becomes evenly combined.

Step 4 – Assemble the dessert

Spread the pistachio-kadaif mixture over the hardened chocolate layer in the mold.

Pour the remaining melted chocolate on top and smooth the surface.

Return the mold to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, allowing the chocolate to set completely.

Step 5 – Decoration

Melt the white chocolate and, if desired, mix it with food coloring.

Use a spoon or piping bag to create decorative lines or patterns over the chocolate surface.

Place the dessert back in the refrigerator for another 10 minutes so the decoration can harden.

Tips

  • If you do not have a silicone mold, a muffin tray or loaf pan lined with baking paper can work as a substitute.
  • For a plant-based version, choose vegan chocolate and dairy-free butter.
  • To enhance the texture, you can add chopped toasted pistachios or walnuts to the filling.
