Modern life often moves at a very fast pace. Between work, daily responsibilities and family commitments, finding time to prepare homemade food can sometimes feel difficult. However, the comfort of freshly baked pastries is something many of us still cherish. The smell coming from the oven instantly creates a cozy atmosphere and reminds us of childhood kitchens and relaxed weekend mornings.

Fortunately, preparing warm homemade rolls does not always require hours of work. This recipe for quick homemade rolls is perfect for anyone who enjoys baking but prefers a simple and practical approach. With just a few everyday ingredients and minimal preparation time, you can make soft and flavorful rolls that disappear from the table almost immediately.
Another advantage of this recipe is its simplicity. There is no need for a mixer or complicated techniques. Everything can be mixed by hand using ingredients that are usually already in the kitchen. Yogurt, milk, flour and yeast combine to create a dough that bakes into golden, fluffy rolls.
These quick rolls are suitable for many occasions. They are great for unexpected visitors, for packing into a lunch box, or for serving as a warm snack during family gatherings. You can leave them plain or fill them with cheese, ham, chocolate spread or any filling you prefer.
Ingredients
- 600 g all-purpose flour
- 200 ml yogurt or thick sour milk
- 200 ml milk
- 100 ml oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet dry yeast
For topping
- 1 egg yolk
- Sesame seeds
- Optional fillings (cheese, ham, chocolate spread, etc.)
Preparation
Step 1 – Prepare the dough
Pour the milk into a bowl and mix it with the dry yeast and sugar. After that, add the remaining ingredients: flour, yogurt, oil, salt and baking powder.
Knead everything by hand until you obtain a firm but workable dough.
Step 2 – Shape the rolls
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Using a rolling pin, roll each portion into a round shape.
Cut the dough into triangular pieces, similar to small wedges. The size can be adjusted depending on how large you want the rolls to be.
If desired, place a small amount of filling on each triangle and roll it up.
Step 3 – Prepare for baking
Arrange the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Brush them with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra flavor and a golden finish.
Step 4 – Bake
Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the rolls become golden and slightly crispy on the outside.
Serving
These rolls are best enjoyed warm, right after baking. Their soft texture and light flavor make them perfect for breakfast, snacks or gatherings with family and friends.
Whether filled or plain, they are a quick homemade treat that brings comfort and a touch of warmth to the table.
